Apartment prices in Bulgaria grow 6% in second quarter of 2008
Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute announced that the apartment prices in Bulgaria had grown 5,9% in the second quarter of 2008.
The average price of one square meter of residential property in Bulgaria was 664,94 Euro in January-March 2008, but in April-June 2008 it was already 703,99 Euro.
The highest growth in apartment prices was recorded in the southwest city of Kyustendil - almost 15%. On the other pole, the prices in the northeast city of Targovishte even declined by almost 3%.
The lowest prices are recorded in the northeast city of Silistra - 366 Euro per square meter, and in the Sofia District - 365 Euro per square meter.
The highest average residential prices are in:
- Sofia (1183 Euro per square meter, 6.9% grow)
- Varna (1093 Euro per square meter, 1.8% grow)
- Ruse (895 Euro per square meter)
- Burgas (869 Euro per square meter)
- Stara Zagora (767 Euro per square meter)
- Plovdiv (762 Euro per square meter, 13.2% grow)
The apartment prices in Plovdiv are segnificantly lower than the other two cities in the Top 3 of biggest cities in Bulgaria - Sofia and Varna. So, my opinion is, if you are looking for property investment, buy property in Plovdiv - the boom there is on its way.
